Systemic COnstellations

For centuries, philosophers, searchers, share their research and their discoveries on the concept of system. Since the Sixties, both in Europe, with the research and the applications in particular of Bert Hellinger, German psychotherapist, or in the United States with the multi-field enquiring team in social sciences of the Palo Alto School, were born the systemic family therapies. For Paul Watzlawick, psychoanalyst, psychologist, American psychotherapist and member of the MRI (Mental Research Institute), the symptom of the patient is the result of the dysfunction of the environment he is part of, this is why the systemic approach chooses to tackle the problem of the person in her widened context.

Currently, many forms of accompaniment (brief therapies, coaching…) broaden their range tools with systemic dynamics. By adding that our own reality/environment is the mirror of our perception, it appeared useful to to me to integrate this systemic posture into a group work, through simple exercises: to move people perception of their environment from the body feelings and not only from the intellect, to explore with the assistance of the facilitator and the group how to make evolve/move their perception in order to integrate new resources and a change in their own reality.

Family Constellations

The family constellations offer us the opportunity to revisit our values, our beliefs, inherited from our parents and our ancestors, and to grow thanks to them. What we sometimes experience as hindrances become opportunities to learn to clarify our aspirations, to transform what needs to be, to heal from events that prevent us from being fully ourselves. So we can honor the best of our family heritage and pass it on to future generations.

The family constellations make it possible to work on invisible family loyalties, intergenerational traumas, and implement a collective intelligence based on the phenomenon of morphic resonance*. Whether they are lived in a group experience or in an individual session, each family constellation will bring you a broader perception of a situation that you wish to change.

*What is morphic resonance ?

According to Rupert Sheldrake, all self-organizing systems, including crystals, organisms and societies are organized by morphic fields which contain an inherent memory, given by a process called morphic resonance from previous similar systems. By this process, all human beings draw upon a collective human memory, similar to Jung’s collective unconscious, and in turn contribute to it.  Even individual memory depends on morphic resonance rather than on physical memory traces stored within the brain.  Attempts by neuroscientists to locate memory traces in brains have failed over and over again, probably because they are not there.  If memories are not stored in brains, then they need not be destroyed at death when the brain decays. Social groups also carry memories in their organizing fields, which may underlie family patterns that recur over the generations, and morphic resonance makes family constellation therapy easier to understand.

Dr RUPERT SHELDRAKE is a biologist and author of more than ninety technical papers and nine books, including The Presence of the Past. He is currently a Fellow of the Institute of Noetic Sciences in Petaluma, California and of Schumacher College in Dartington, Devon.

Workshop on organizational system

Are you a leader, an entrepreneur, a change management consultant or are you curious to innovate in your professional relationships?

Organizational system (OS) is a way to innovate and strengthen collective intelligence and performance by decoding and clarifying the dynamics at work in organizations.

“When the mind cannot change a situation, it is time to move on to another type of thinking!”. OS is a surprising process that tends to diminish overly analytical and linear thinking and capture the unlimited potential of the creative brain, appealing to intuition, senses, image and collective staging.

The origin of the systemic constellations comes from the German psychotherapist Bert Hellinger, who developed and practiced this method with constant and astonishing success in the field of psychotherapy dedicated to the understanding of family pathologies. His knowledge and processes have been disseminated worldwide for decades.
